Technical Writing and Documentation

We strive to communicate through text and format. We help clients express concepts and transfer information with carefully organized messages. Clear communication requires careful analysis of your customers' or users' interest, capacity, and needs.

We work in your office or ours. We produce documents from raw data or draft material, or revisions of finished and in-process material. Do you need production services? We can coordinate translation of text and the printing of your documents.

We provide technical writing, marketing communications, document design, and project management services. We listen closely to our customers, because no one knows their business like they do. That way, we always deliver exactly what our customers demand: quality writing that meets their business needs.

From project conception through launch, we work with subject matter experts and project managers to translate technology into straightforward instructions, procedures, and reference materials for a specific audience. We work accurately and efficiently while remaining sensitive to project deadlines.

Two important steps in the information design process are identifying the audience and learning the intended use of the product.  We accomplish both of these steps by interviewing engineers, quality assurance testers, regulatory and marketing personnel, and other stakeholders.  We also study supporting documents, such as project plans and marketing and technical specifications to increase my knowledge of the product and the target audience.

An aspect of technical writing we truly enjoy is learning new tools and technologies. Almost every project requires we use a different combination of hardware and software applications. Not every tool is suited for every purpose. Many times, using several applications in harmony produces the best product.

Technical Writing

Technical writing involves interpreting complex information and presenting it in a form meant for end users. Some examples include user manuals, on-line help, specifications and data sheets, and regulatory compliance documents.

Marketing Communications

Marketing communications involves creating material for potential buyers of a product. A few examples are whitepapers, position papers, articles, and reviewers' guides. This also include sales support materials such as case studies and leave-behind pieces for customers.

Document Design

Document design is a holistic approach of communicating a message with words and/or images in a completed document. A typical document design workflow might include evaluating the message, audience, and medium, then developing a template and style guide to use as the vehicle into which the material will go.

Desktop & Electronic Publishing

Desktop publishing sometimes includes elements of document design, but it is more specifically the use of software  to convey text and images into the desired format. While desktop publishing used to be exclusively for paper delivery, today web and other electronic publishing methods are fully integrated.

Based upon past experience, we believe that we can adapt to virtually any development software.

Technical Training

With today's high-tech gadgets and software, and the expectation that products are easy to use, there is a tremendous burden on product makers to train and educate not only users, but also sales, customer service, and technical service personnel. As a result, training documents must be written in concert with user and marketing documentation.

Project Management

We understand how documentation projects need to be run, which enables us to adapt to our customers' needs.
